Tax Principal

Rock joined WMKL in 2025 as an experienced professional. As a Tax Principal, he specializes in advising business owners and high-net worth individuals on complex tax strategies, estate and succession planning, planning involving trusts, corporate reorganizations, acquiring, expanding, and selling businesses, and various cross-border tax issues.

Rock began his career in accounting in 2006, after obtaining his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University, and has been practicing taxation full time since 2008. He earned the Chartered Accountant designation in 2009 and went on to complete the CPA Canada In-Depth Taxation Program in 2011. He is now a facilitator for the In-Depth Tax Program and gives back to the accounting profession by teaching the next generation of tax experts. Rock also holds the TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation issued by STEP Canada, a Master of Taxation degree from the University of Waterloo, and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. He keeps up to date on Canada’s ever-changing tax rules by attending regular tax conferences.

Outside of work, Rock enjoys basketball, hiking, video games, and spending time with his family. He would like to thank his wife, Julie, for all her incredible support over the course of his career, because he could not have had both such a beautiful family and his successful career in tax otherwise.
